After my junior year at California University of Pennsylvania, I was accepted at WQED for an internship with their Emmy Award winning news show, OnQ. Hosted by Michael Bartley and Tonia Caruso, OnQ covers all the important events affecting the people of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Topics have ranged from the Battle at Gettysburg to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's performance for Pope John Paul II.

During my internship, I learned the entire process used in order to put a quality program together. To do this, not only did I assist with current stories, but I was also given the opportunity to produce my own program from beginning to end. Out of proposals from three other interns, my story idea was chosen for our program and because of this, I quickly took a leadership role.

"OnQ just aired the CMU Wall story - and it was among the BEST intern produced stories we've ever had. I might even say the best."
